Software defined internet of things in smart city: a review

The concept of smart cities has gained traction to enhance citizens’ quality life amidst rapid urbanization. Integration the Internet Things (IoT) is a key component that allows for gathering real-time data inform decision-making and drive innovation in urban planning management. However, managing amount generated IoT devices growth poses challenge leads network management, interoperability, security, scalability issues cities. To overcome such problems, integrating Software Define Networking (SDN) provides flexible, scalable, efficient architecture can better support unique demands applications. Motivated by extensive research efforts Defined (SDIoT), this paper aims review SDIoT implementation It first introduces underlying technology along with various practical applications SDIoT. comprehension focus on application requirements, including scalability, low latency requirement, handling big data, privacy, energy consumption, Quality Service (QoS), task offloading. concludes discussing future directions need be examined greater depth.
